Amoskeag Fishway

Our first stop in Manchester toady was at the Amoskeag Fishway. The girls were a little nervous about going on a field trip where they didn't know anyone. Not to worry that lasted about 5 minutes and they had new best friends.

Rebekah was so taken with the water, we almost couldn't get her inside to see anything else. Good thing the fence was high or she might have been up for her first swim of the season.
Hannah and Rebekah had a great time pretending to be the salmon swimming up the ladders. Lucky for us they didn't lay any eggs.

The fishway offers lots of different educational classes. Today the class was on amphibians and reptiles. One of the activities included going around the room to different stations. At each station there was an activity that helped the children discover the similarities and differences between the two.

Rebekah wasn't to into sitting through an hour and half class. However, she was more than happy to explore the exhibits. Above she is checking out some of the native fish. She loved pushing the buttons and watching them light up. Below you can see one of the fish. It is actually swimming up the ladder outside. The one that Rebekah was looking at in the first picture. How cool is that?
