Yarn Along

Once again joining Ginny and others in her weekly Yarn Along. A place to share two of my passions, knitting and reading.

On the needles is the second sock! Finally! Anyone else have a hard time knitting the second sock? It seems after I finish the first I should be finished, but no that second sock. I think I will have to look into knitting two at the same time.

I'm reading a lovely magazine - The Mother. I had heard wonderful things about this magazine, but had never actually seen an issue. I was blessed to win this copy from a fellow blogger. Thanks Starr.

  3. I really want to learn to knit socks, but I also fear that I would have a hard time finishing the 2nd one! I'm still going to give it a try, hopefully sometime this year!

  6. Oh, yeah ... the only way to combat trying to find one-footed-sock wearers is to knit 2 at a time. And if you knit them toe up, you always have enough to cover the foot and then make the leg as long as you can stand it!

  7. Two at the same time sounds like a great idea!

  8. What sock pattern are you knitting from?

I sometimes get second sock syndrome, but lately I've been really into socks and it's not as hard to knit the second one.

I'm doing a monthly self-imposed-sock-club, where I knit a pair of socks each month inspired by the season! February's socks are a secret because they're a gift. : )

  9. I'm impressed you can knit one lovely sock; let alone 2! If I could knit, I'm sure I'd struggle with that second one!

Thanks for your enthusiasm about my stick horse; I'm pretty thrilled with it myself! I pretty much followed the directions in the book "Creative Play for your Toddler: Steiner Waldorf Expertise and Projects for 2-4s" (a beautiful book I received as a gift). I'm planning to blog more about it when I finish it. I'd definitely recommend making one; it was a very satisfying project!

  10. I had to smile :) Yes, I have the same trouble with socks! And the thing is once I've knitted one pair three other little girls want a pair two!
Yours are beautiful though. Well worth the effort.

  12. I've never seen that magazine but I like how it and your yarn are both such soothing colors. :)

  13. Your socks are looking great and the magazine sounds very interesting! I've never heard of it before. I agree having the gloves a little larger than my son's hands is a good thing as he is growing like a week and I don't want to have to make another pair too soon *grin*. Have a blessed weekend :)
