I was so excited when Julia announced she was going to be hosting a weekly Sewing Bee. I enjoy sewing, but have a hard time getting to it. Without a place to sew, except for the kitchen table, sometimes it seems to much work to get everything out just to have to put it away in time for dinner. I'm hoping that joining the weekly sewing bee will be just the motivation I need to keep me sewing.
My project for this week and a few more I'm sure is my Colorblock Quilt. The top is done except for trimming the two sides. Then to sandwich the top, batting, and backing and baste. I'll admit this has me a little nervous. This is my first quilt other than the little doll quilt I made Rebekah for Christmas. And I know I have been putting off working on it, because I'm scared I am going to mess it up. So wish me luck. Hopefully, by next week I will have gotten beyond this step and will be machine quilting it or even putting on the binding.

WOW - that quilt is beautiful - I love the colors. I have always wanted to make one like that but don't have the confidence yet to choose fabrics that will actually work together. I think you did a great job.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, I love the colors and clear, simple lines.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that quilt is lovely! The colors are so rich! Good job~Laura
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed with your quilt thus far! I bought materials to start my first quilt over a year ago, and still haven't managed to do so.

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!
I really enjoy your addition of what you are grateful for added to your {this moment} what a wonderful way to end a week!
Oh, I forgot to add ~ I was so scared to finish a quilt I had started for my step-daughter that it took me a year and a half to finish her quilt! I finally decided that it was only fabric ~ finished it with the help of my grandparents and my step-daughter LOVES it!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your finished quilt!
I love the pattern you've chosen, it really brings out the fabric nicely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! I have also only made 1, well, 2, if you count the table runner I made. I did the binding all by hand. It took me forever. I would do it by machine if I knew how, although I know that is a bit frowned upon!
ReplyDeleteYour color brick looks great! I am pretty much in the same spot with mine! Strangely enough Sarah and I did two for Christmas gifts but have not finished our own!! It went pretty well but we cheated and did not use the binding for the edges.
