Following the grain a day has been fun. We are still looking for recipes to make eating a variety of grains a little easier. It is amazing how few grains we really eat. I thought we ate a varied diet, when in reality it was a lot of the same things in different forms. So far rye has been a big hit. Everyone love the rye crackers as well as rye bread. Anyone know of any other ways to incorporate rye? We'll see how the barley porridge goes. We all like barley in our soup, but none of us has ever had it as porridge. Actually, I don't think we eat much porridge. Brings to mind scenes from fairy tales of my youth. I'll let you know how it goes.

So what are you eating? Are you in a rut or are you adding some variety to your menu?

  1. This is actually really helpful. One of my goals this fall is to get more organized with our meal plans. Also, to make sure we are sitting down for meals as a family, as often as possible. thanks, barefoot mama
