Yarn Along - Mama Socks and Wild Days

Oh it has been a while since I have picked up the knitting needles. I think I had forgotten how much I truly enjoy knitting. We were off to visit my in-laws this past weekend, and Doug was actually able to go. That mean I was able to knit while he drove. Oh the joy! So these socks were the perfect project. One on the way there and one on the way home. Well almost. I did have to graft the toes once we got home. I knit them with one of my favorite sock patterns. It is the basic adult sock pattern from Rolling Knolls Farm The yarn is Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light is a lovely shade of purple. It knit up so nice and soft, and even know it is the end of June I have been wearing these warm sock on our chilly evenings. Now to get a few more pairs knit for myself before the cold weather really returns.

As for reading, I have a too many books in progress right now. But the one I would like to share is Wild Days, Creating Discovery Journals by Karen Skidmore Rackliffe. The lovely Suzzane who rights the beautiful blog Blueberry Cottage invited us to join her on a summer journey through the book and nature journaling with our families. We are only on week three and heading our for our first Wild Days Journey this weekend! I'm so excited and I know the girls will love the adventure and art combination. I'll be back to share some of these adventures I'm sure.
